Idea #1: Travel on Board the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in New Mexico. The original Cumbres & Toltec Railroad track was constructed by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad in 1880. In 1970, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad began tourist operations. Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad trains depart from both Chama and Antonito, with meetings at Osier.
Idea #2: Enjoy a Variety of Recreational Activities at the Rio Grande Gorge. The Rio Grande Gorge is a spectacular attraction to visit in northern New Mexico. The Rio Grande Bridge provides outstanding views of the Rio Grande River 650 feet below as well as the expanse of the narrow rock Gorge. Hauntings aside, the Bridge provides a dazzling view of the Rio Grande Gorge.
Of course there are a lot of other destinations that you might want to see on your Alaska vacation. You might only be here for a brief period of time, but you can enjoy and capture much of the wonderful culture, heritage, and adventure that we have to offer.
