The thought of getting stretch marks can get to anyone. Many people affiliate them with maternity, but they are also induced by weightlifting, weight gain and sometimes puberty, things that can cause the epidermis to stretch more quickly than it is able to naturally.

Gaining too much weight can also create a greater probability of creating stretch marks, and making it harder to lose the excess weight after the the birth of the baby.

If you are afraid of getting stretch marks, whether during maternity or before starting a weightlifting routine, your best defense is prevention. It’s best to take precautions and use a healing stretch mark cream to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. Preventing them from developing works better than trying to remove them after they’ve already developed.
